Newlyweds Philip and Lorena Rousseaux continue to embark on new adventures aboard the 2015 World Cruise and thus continue to share their story with us. Through our conversations with them, it’s become clear that a shared love for travel and thirst for new and enriching experiences throughout the world is something that bonds them. In fact, while enjoying their current — and first-ever — Crystal cruise, they’ve already booked the recently announced 2018 World Cruise (Crystal Serenity’s voyage from Los Angeles to Rome)! Below is Part II of our exchange with the new Mr. and Mrs. Rousseaux, as they reflect on how their new story together aligns perfectly with their Crystal story.
CC: What are your top priorities when planning a luxury vacation?
PR: We want the best of everything: top-notch service, accommodations and cuisine.
LR: I think luxury accommodations are a must have when planning a vacation. I need to feel comfortable in my space. For instance, I love our penthouse on Crystal because of its large vanity and walk-in closet. I over-pack for everything so I need to have space to put it all away!
CC: What are some of the common pursuits that have brought the two of you together?
PR: Our love of travel and desire for adventure surely has brought us even closer together than ever. We’ve gone skydiving, hang gliding, rappelling — you name it, we’ve done it. We love to try anything new and, most importantly, we love doing it together.
CC: What is the greatest travel experience and/or adventure the two of you have shared together?
PR: It has to be this World Cruise. Traveling to all these different places is an experience we will never forget. We’ve done so many exciting activities, from seeing Machu Picchu to scuba diving in Bora Bora, rappelling down a 328-foot cave near Auckland, and biking down the steep mountains of Santa Marta. It all has been so thrilling and exciting, everyday somewhere new and everyday doing something different. There is no doubt this is the experience of a lifetime.
CC: We understand you are booked for the World Cruise in 2018. What destination or adventure are you each most eagerly anticipating for that journey?
LR: I am really looking forward to Egypt. I’ve always dreamed about going there and seeing the Pyramids. I really love seeing the world with Crystal — all the new ports and in such a luxurious way. There’s no hotel-hopping, planes, or late flights. Everyday, we’re sailing on to a new place different than the previous one. It’s the best way to see the world — on a floating five-star resort.
PR: I’m really looking forward to it. The itinerary is full of ports that I have dreamed about visiting. The one place I look most forward to visiting is Thailand.
