From the Seychelles Islands to the African Bush, on one voyage

Masai Mara Hot Air Balloon

For many years, Crystal guests have relished the opportunity to extend their luxury vacations ashore. Our “Extended Land Programs” have delivered this wish beautifully, available only with ocean voyages aboard Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity.

Until now.

Next year, if you’re sailing in the Seychelles aboard our luxury yacht, Crystal Esprit (and we believe you absolutely should be), you have the option to make that dream vacation last four days and three nights longer. An immersive East African safari post-cruise adventure is now available with the yacht’s 2017 Seychelles itineraries.

From Mahé, Seychelles, you’ll switch gears from island life and submarine diving to rugged game drives and wildlife viewing in Kenya, when you board your Air Kenya flight after disembarking your cruise. Over the course of the next four days, you’ll delve into the vast African Plains and its contrasting dense jungle areas, in pursuit of the most spectacular encounters with lions, elephants, cheetahs, rhinos, giraffes and other wild animals.

(Of course, it’s not all about the rugged life, as you’ll stay in posh accommodations at Nairobi’s Norfolk Hotel and the Fairmont Mara Safari Club.)

From the ground to the sky, you also have the option to take in the expansive paradise that is Maasai Mara National Reserve from your perch in a hot air balloon. Get your rest, the balloon takes off at sunrise.

Note: Sunrise over the African Plains is famously magical. Prepare yourself to catch your breath and the perfect photo.

While the remarkable wildlife residents of the region are certainly a focal point of your adventures here, you’ll also be treated to an authentically intimate glimpse into the lives and customs of the locals residing in nearby Maasai Village. These warm people will welcome you into their rituals for the evening, with song and dance, while regaling you with insightful stories of their history and ancestors.

One of the beauties of travel is bringing a piece of each destination home with you as you encounter and embrace new cultures. We’re pretty certain you’ll leave a small piece of your heart on the plains, too.
