New, East Coast Boutique Adventures Highlight Iconic Art, Cuisine and Landscapes

Crystal Symphony in New England

A private tête-à-tête with Van Gogh’s “The Starry Night.” Sharks and champagne. Giant and princess…scallops? Smelling the roses at Charleston’s most famous private garden. Such unique experiences are among six new Boutique Adventures we are offering on Crystal Serenity’s East Coast/New England cruises this fall.

The Boutique Adventures—extremely intimate shoreside outings that are not available on any other cruise line—include new excursions in Boston, Quebec’s Magdalen Islands, New York City, and Charleston, South Carolina:

Go behind the scenes at the New England Aquarium with an expert museum educator. See how museum staff feed the fish and nurse the sick ones; pet the sharks and stingrays; and then sip champagne at “America’s Oldest Restaurant.”

Savor the flavors of Boston’s North End on a “cuisine crawl” of authentic neighborhood markets with a local Italian foodie expert. Explore the city’s Little Italy with a climatic final meal at award-winning local fave, Antico Forno restaurant.

Take a cooking lesson from locavore chef Johanne Vigneault. Îles de la Madeleine’s most renowned regional gourmet chef and restaurateur will teach you secrets only the locals know for preparing the islands’ delectable giant and princess scallops in a comprehensive gastronomic experience that travels from epicurean marketplace to hands-on kitchen to tasty table.

Go on a private Tour of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) when it is closed to the public. You’ll be led by a local art historian, after which you’ll have time for independent exploration through an unparalleled collection of masterpieces by such greats as Van Gogh, Rousseau, Chagall, Dalí and Warhol.

Dine in the Skybox at DANIEL, Manhattan’s most exclusive chef’s table. We have reserved seats for just four culinary connoisseurs at Chef Daniel Boulud’s three Michelin-starred restaurant. The group will indulge in an eight-course tasting menu in the Skybox, a glass-enclosed chef’s table suspended above the main dining room and open kitchen.

Step inside the incredibly manicured backdrop of the renowned book “Mrs. Whaley and Her Charleston Garden,” where Mrs. Whaley’s daughter will personally lead a private garden tour.

Five, seven- and 10-day cruises sail from Boston, New York City and Québec City in September, October and November. “Book Now” cruise fares are available until August 29.
