THE SURPRISINGLY SATISFYING COMBO OF GRAPEFRUIT & TARRAGON SHINES THIS THIRSTY THURSDAY

Grapefruit Tarragon Gin & Tonic

A Gin & Tonic with Tart Citrus and Licorice-Like Flavors

Great news: this week’s featured cocktail not only offers a zing of citrus and the deep, earthy sweetness of licorice-like tarragon, it also comes with a healthy helping of vitamins and minerals. Tarragon – a coarse leaf grown on a shrub that contains the same chemical compound that gives a licorice flavor to anise and fennel – is rich in manganese, which has antioxidant properties, and iron, which is important for bone health and the immune system. Nutrient powerhouse grapefruit – the larger, tangier sibling to oranges and other citrus fruits – is packed with vitamins A and C, plus potassium, thiamine and folate. Served together, these two ingredients present a lovely flavor profile that you can feel good about.

Add to this Hendrick’s gin and Fever Tree Indian Tonic Water and now you have something to suit your penchant for health food and a great cocktail. Crystal’s diverse Gin & Tonic menu, served throughout your favorite ships from Palm Court to the Cove Lounge (or the plush privacy of your Penthouse or suite), is a veritable feast of creative and unexpected flavor combos added to one of the world’s most classic cocktails. One of our favorites – and our guests’ – is the Grapefruit Tarragon Gin & Tonic. Here, our barkeepers share the recipe for you to create in your home lounge.
