Overnights Expand the Discoveries on the 2022 World Cruise
“Marvels, Myths & Monuments: A Cultural Mosaic.” The name might be a tongue-twister, but it beautifully encompasses what’s in store for World Cruise guests in 2022. There is a world of wonders out there and it’s remarkable how many of them can be explored in 116 days (depending on which of five embarkation/disembarkation options you choose). On this epic journey alone, there are 55 UNESCO World Heritage Sites to explore in 50 ports in 32 countries to delve into and nine cities where your adventures will stretch from day into night, and into day again.
It’s these overnight ports we’re exploring today, highlighting discoveries that await you.
By day. Venture to Waiheke Island for forest ziplining adventures or sips of the famous wines; get your heart pumping with an America’s Cup sailing adventure along the Hauraki Gulf or an invigorating 14k (that’s roughly 8.7 miles) run along the “Around the Bays” race route on the waterfront.
By night. Auckland’s never-ending energy continues into the night, when myriad bars, restaurants and hot spots beckon you. Intimate wine bars and lively hubs for live music run the gamut, or, for more active pursuits you can choose to kayak into the sunset.

Greet the local wildlife behind the scenes at the Taronga Zoo or on an adventure to the wildlife park and Blue Mountain. Get a sense of Sydney’s history exploring The Rocks district, where cobbled alleyways and cozy pubs and eateries harken the 18th century beginnings of the city.
By night. Pubs are the heart of the city at night, many with fascinating histories. Grab a beer or two at one of the watering holes built by former convicts of the 19th century, or relax in a rooftop beer garden. Fine dining options, intimate tables for two and a bevy of dinner shows can also be found, as well as nighttime urban adventures.
By Day. Enter the ethereal beauty of this place, its temples and spectacular orchid garden. Enjoy traditional dances performed by local children, and savor the local spices during a hands-on Balinese cooking class.

Colorful stage productions and Cabaret shows are also prevalent here, and night markets pulse with energy.
