THE JADE MARTINI BRIGHTENS UP THIRSTY THURSDAY

Jade Martini

As Beautiful as it is Delicious, this is a Treat of a Cocktail

You know that scene in the movies, when the heroine descends a grand staircase donning a showstopper of a gown as the perfect song plays on the nearby grand piano, causing every reveler in the place to stop, stare and pick their jaws up off the dance floor? If that scene were a cocktail, the Jade Martini would be the starlet. The moment it is placed on the bar, it makes as grand an entrance as an inanimate object can make on its own. The vibrant green hue draws the eyes of those seated from one end of the bar to the other, and the sweet-and-sour-citrus-melon combo tempts the taste buds.

This drink is the answer to dessert + happy hour – a delicious vodka-based concoction of vanilla, lime, lemon and pineapple, shaken, not stirred (true to the cinematic roots of any great martini) and served ice cold. We’re sipping this colorful cocktail courtesy of the recipe below from Crystal’s own barkeepers, and as we do, we’re imagining all of the dramatic entrances to come down the grand Crystal Cove staircase as the baby grand plays. Until then, shake up a Jade Martini in your own home bar and toast to the journeys that lie ahead.

Crystal’s Jade Martini

2.5 oz. Absolut Vanilla
0.5 oz. Midori melon liqueur
0.5 oz. Fresh lemon sour*
Pressed juice of half a lime
Dash of pineapple juice

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass, straight up or on the rocks. Garnish with a lemon spiral.

*Crystal’s House-Made Lemon Sour

1 oz. simple syrup (1 part sugar/ 1 part water)
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
