A Gin & Tonic with Tart Citrus and Licorice-Like Flavors

Tarragon – a coarse leaf grown on a shrub that contains the same chemical compound that gives a licorice flavor to anise and fennel – is rich in manganese, which has antioxidant properties, and iron, which is important for bone health and the immune system. Nutrient powerhouse grapefruit – the larger, tangier sibling to oranges and other citrus fruits – is packed with vitamins A and C, plus potassium, thiamine and folate. Served together, these two ingredients present a lovely flavor profile that you can feel good about.

Crystal’s Grapefruit Tarragon Gin & Tonic
2 oz. Hendrick’s Gin
2 oz. Fresh grapefruit juice
¼ oz. Simple syrup
1 ½ oz. Fever Tree Indian Tonic Water
Serve in a Spanish Copa glass and garnish with fresh tarragon.
