Voyage Spotlight: Tee off in New England with Crystal this fall

Attention golfers (aficionados and recreational players alike): we recommend that you add your clubs to the packing list for your October 9 voyage aboard Crystal Serenity, because we have a few things up the sleeve of our polo shirts. Besides the stunning itinerary – from New York to Québec by way of New England – which, in the fall, offers a spectacular setting for almost any outdoor activity, this golf cruise is a particular treat for experienced golfers or those who simply want to learn and improve their game.

On board, 30-year PGA veteran pro Bill Stutzer will help prepare you (and your swing) for play at three top golf courses in the region. With his eagle eye for the nuances of technique, Bill is a master at identifying adjustments that help students improve their game significantly. Bill will offer group workshops, as well as private lessons upon request. If you don’t feel like unpacking your clubs to warm up on the ship, feel free to pick up one of the TaylorMade clubs offered aboard Crystal ships.

Once you’ve gotten into the swing of things (excuse the pun), you’re ready for a round ashore at some of the prettiest and most challenging courses in New England and Northern Canada:

The Links at Brunello in Halifax, a new course designed by master designer Thomas McBroom, which opened in 2015 and was quickly voted the 3rd best new course in North American by Golf Digest magazine. Take care not to get distracted by the fantastic views, or you might miss one of the numerous “bull nose” white-sand bunkers.

Rodd Crowbush Golf & Beach Resort in Charlottetown, located on the pristine north shore of Prince Edward Island, is consistently ranked among the top public courses by various authorities. And no wonder, while beautiful, the course also keeps players on their toes with varying waterholes, pot bunkers, and expansive fairways.

La Tempête Golf Club in Québec City is the city’s first metropolitan world-class course, consistently ranked among the top in the province. The challenging course offers a compelling mix of links-style and parkland holes, with more than 70 sand traps spread over 200 acres of gently rolling hills, 40 of which are bent grass.

In addition to shipboard instruction and friendly competition ashore, our golf program includes a VIP golfers’ welcome cocktail reception; welcome kits with course info and gifts; roundtrip transportation to each course accompanied by a Crystal escort or pro; 45-minute warm-up and pre-/post-round refreshments and cocktails; and complimentary storage and cleaning of clubs and shoes.

In between rounds, when you’re not golfing, practicing or strategizing, there are dozens of enriching shore-side adventures to enjoy in Sydney and Halifax, Nova Scotia; Prince Edward Island/Charlottetown; Gaspé, Québec; Saguenay, P.Q. and Québec City, Canada. An optional inclusive Extended Land Program takes you on to Montréal.

Grab your clubs and your passport. We’ve got the rest covered.
